One Thing I Can't Believe I Hadn't Thought Of By Now
2014 will be my third year of photographing births. I love it. I LOVE IT. If I could photograph a birth every week, I would. Just in case you're not aware ... if I could photograph 2 births a month, I would! That would be ideal. 2 births each month. 24 births a year. That puts enough space between babies being born that the stress and risk of babies being born at the same time is significantly lowered. But alas. Le sigh. The awareness of birth photography just hasn't hit our area yet. Oh, don't you worry. I've got some plans for the next 2-3 years to build that awareness. I definitely need your help in spreading the word that I exist :) ! But that's for another blog post.
Back to THIS blog post. Why have I never thought to give the babies I photograph a certificate? It's special for them - not everyone has a photographer at their birth! And it's special for me. Every single birth I photograph is an emotional, wonderful, honor-filled event for me. So I am printing off my certificates as you read (unless you read this, you know, after they've printed)! All of the wonderful babies I've photographed over the years can expect something special in the mail pretty shortly :) !!
*Certificate above is for the very first baby whose birth I photographed - Baby Katie Whalen!
